As you come up the lane you can be forgiven for mistaking Crag House Farm for an ordinary farm. The farmyard, the farmhouse and the fields mislead the unsuspecting visitor. It is only when you meet the people, visit the activities and experience the atmosphere that you realize that here at Crag House Farm, the home of Caring For Life, there are ordinary people doing ordinary things with extraordinary results!
In the Arts and Learning Centre you will meet adults learning to read and write, others learning to play an instrument, rehearsing a drama piece or discovering their art and craft talents.
In the horticulture and conservation projects you will find people discovering not only the beauty and grandeur of nature but also learning to appreciate beauty.
The projects where folk work with animals, be it rare breed cattle, horses or small mammals, all provide opportunities to teach folk some of the responsibilities involved in animal husbandry, and often this is the gateway to learning to love again.
On all of these projects there are staff and volunteers, loving and caring for the folk we support, while teaching them new skills. If you ask these staff and volunteers they will tell you that they are ordinary people, doing ordinary, every day things. They will confirm that it is the amazing love of Jesus that breaks through barriers and achieves extraordinary things in the hearts and lives of those in our care.
When CFL celebrates its 22nd birthday at the end of February it will be a reminder of God's faithfulness, encouraging us to continue serving Him obediently and expectantly, knowing that ordinary people can achieve extraordinary things through Him that makes all things possible.
"
with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26
