Agri News!

It been an exciting few weeks on the Farm here at Caring For Life. Silage and hay have been harvested, in between monsoon downpours, but on the main it has been a good summer.

Our hope is that it will continue to stay dry as we still have a bit more hay to come in and later in the month we will probably be bringing in the straw. Keep watching for news of how we get on; the men on the Agricultural project really enjoy straw harvesting time.

On the free range egg project, Clare's work in preparing the houses for new flocks is now finished and we are now proud owners of our latest 500 hens, The hens were very generously donated by a supporter of ours. We are all now waiting for them to lay their first eggs! We are wanting to expand our free range flocks as we hope that egg production will bring in very valuable extra income for the ministry. More importantly though, it will enable us to involve more men and women on that project. This has been a very useful work in the past, giving the staff many opportunities to get alongside and talk about our Lord.

I remember many years ago when we supported a man called Colin, (many of you will remember him). He is now a very poorly gentleman, but a man who gave his life to the Lord Jesus in a chicken house, whilst collecting eggs. We thank God that even though he is so confused and damaged, he is still safe in our Lord's hands, and we know one day his mind will be fully restored when he sees his Saviour face to face.

Why did the chicken cross the road jokes are all the rage as well at the moment, such as 'Why did the chicken cross the road?' Answer: 'To get away from Clare.' Not good are they? Email better ones if you know any.

We pray you will enjoy your summer and we look forward to maybe seeing some of you in the future.
