timCaring For Life depends on volunteers to survive, so much so that we have nicknamed our volunteers ‘angels in disguise’. Every single project that we run has at some point a volunteer helping in one way or another.

The sacrificial time that this vital group of people give cannot be adequately expressed enough. The affection, admiration, and thanks that we have towards our angels in disguise is tiny compared to the actual difference that they are actually making.

This year we are really privileged to have with us a very special group of TFJ’s. For people who are new to CFL, a TFJ, which stands for 'Time For Jesus' volunteer, is a person who gives us a year of their lives to serve God here, in whatever area we need help.

The year can be very challenging and tiring, however it is also a year in which one can truly understand what it means to serve Christ in a very practical and real way. The rewards of achievements in this service outway any of the physical tiredness that can be faced, and we have found that those who have completed the year in the past have found the year to be greatly beneficial and rewarding.

The last of our 2009/10 TFJ volunteers arrived and started on 21st September. We now have 6 TFJ’s which is more than we have had in one year in almost 17 years.

The team this year are David, Philip, Philippa, Sarah, Catherine and Sam.

Already they have had a very busy time helping on our horticulture and agriculture projects, helping in the café, conservation, errand running and also cooking lunches for up to 50 people in one sitting.

Its set to be a very busy year for this special group of people, and with no exception over the next couple of months, with the arrival of harvest donations from various churches, individuals, groups and schools.

Please pray for this team. Pray that they will really know God's presence as they serve Him this year. Pray that opportunities to not only practically show Jesus love, but also to explain to those in our care how they personally know the love of Jesus.

Our ‘angels in disguise’ are keeping us going, along with the prayers, and support of many people the world over. Pray for them all, but especially our Time For Jesus volunteers over the next few weeks as they settle into their new ministry with us.
