The other day I spent quite a few hours looking through old photographs and was instantly reminded of favourite places, friends, holidays and precious family moments. It was such an uplifting experience and I found myself laughing out loud quite a few times; remembering funny sayings and hilarious situations. All in all, I felt happy, content and really blessed.

In ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’, Oscar Wilde said: “Memory is the diary we all carry about with us.”

davidThe majority of folk who attend our therapeutic projects initially arrive at CFL with memories of heartache and suffering and in my mind’s eye I can see them lumbering around with their ‘diaries’ that are filled with pages and pages of unhappiness and sorrow.

It is our desire to help these folk create new memories. Crag House Farm is the perfect setting where we as staff, with the help of our volunteers, reach out and build relationships, share experiences and day by sharman help make new positive, happy memories. Many times it is the simple act of sharing a meal, enjoying an afternoon refreshment together in the refectory or sharing the wonder of a beautiful sunset.

There are of course special occasions such as the Christmas concert and shared holidays that are much treasured experiences. This year the staff of Tindall House gave each resident a photo album as a Christmas present, containing holiday pictures which michaelwere taken when the Tindall residents went to Aldeburgh in Suffolk for a week. The staff deliberately left blank pages in the album so that the owner can fill it with new memories.

Please remember all those who come to us with broken hearts and scarred memories and pray that through experiencing the love of Jesus at CFL, they will come to know Jesus as Lord and Saviour, so that their best memory will be the day they met Jesus.
