Acceptance

An unlikely friendship has developed recently in the stables at Crag House Farm.
Folk who work in that area have been amused to see a hen has taken up residence in Grace’s stable. The hen has free ranged further than normal and decided the stable is the place to lay her eggs. Every day we see her perching on the door, while Grace, one of our black shire mares, is contentedly munching at her hay net. While possibly not “friendship” in the true sense of the word, it made me stop and think.
One of the things we try to provide at CFL is friendship, the sense that one is no longer struggling with life alone. We have such a wide variety of people here, from every conceivable background, with the people we care for, staff, volunteers, visitors to the Granary, and workmen. It is wonderful to see friendships develop, often between, humanly speaking, the most unlikely and incompatible of people.
So when I saw one of our chickens being accepted by the huge Shire horse, my mind immediately turned to the friendships we are seeing made here at CFL, and most important of all, seeing people coming to share in the trust and love of our Heavenly Father.
“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust."
Psalm 91: 1-2
