September 2008

Friday 5th September
Please pray for our Housing Support team and for those in their care, pray especially for;

K, who has been asking George searching questions. He is currently in prison, but when he leaves he is determined to change his way of life. He has now been off alcohol for 5 months.

A young lady Becky has been working with who has just found out that she is pregnant.She too has been asking about the Christian faith.

A young couple who lead very chaotic lives and are in great need of housing. Pray that they will cooperate with support that is offered.

Thurday 4th September
Please pray for our staffing needs. We need people who really sense the Lord has called them to come and join us here at CFL. Pray that the right people will respond to His call and take steps towards applying for our current vacancies.

Wednesday 3rd September
Give thanks for all the amazing things that the Lord has done for us and please pray He will contiue to meet all our needs. God's vision for CFL has kept us all working hard to fulfill all that needs to be done and to stay focused on fyture progress. Pray that we will keep our eyes fixed on Him and Christ will be at the centre of all we do and say.

Tuesday 2nd September
Please continue to pray for Mike Castle and his family. Mike was able to home over the weekend and attend his church. Pray the Lord will stay close close to Mike, strengthen him and continue to fill him with grace and peace.

Monday 1st September
Please pray for the young people today as they begin their new timetable. This will mean some of those in our care changing to a different project of their choice incorporating drama, music, art and crafts and literacy into their working week. We will also be taking extra people cared for by the Housing Support team and others who have been referred to us. Pray all will go well for all those involved and that this will be a great time for discovering new skills and good fellowhip with staff and volunteers.

Give thanks that after much hard work over the last few days the agri team were able to harvest the straw for the winter.

August 2008

Friday 29th August
Please pray for the Housing Support team and those in their care, pray particlarly for;

A young Iranian who John supports. His accommdation was vandalised and he had to be moved to emergency accommodation Give thanks that he is showing more interst in spiritual things. He is a professing Christian.

Continue to pray to pray for T. She was in Court again last week and her future continues to be very uncetain.

N is due to have a baby in about two weeks. She still doesn't have anywhere suitable to live.

Pray for D.She has been reading her Bible and asking searching questions.

Thursday 28th August
Please pray for the staffing needs we have at CFL, to meet the change and growth we have in every area of our work. Pray that the right people will respond to God's call and vacancies will soon be filled.

Wednesday 27th August
Please pray for our Volunteers. There are many special people who bring a vast range of skills to help us in our different projects. Pray each will be blessed in their areas of work and for good fellowship with staff and young people.

Tuesday 26th August
Please continue to hold Mike Castle and his family in prayer.Mike is in intensive care, pray they will will know the Lord's peace and comfort at this time.

Friday 22nd August
Please pray for those we know, staff, supporters and volunteers who have recently lost loved ones. Pray the Lord will be a real source of comfort, strength and peace to both them and their families in their time of grief.

Thursday 21st August
Please pray for our Housing Support team. Each day they are receiving new referrals from people who are in need of support. Pray for the team and those in their care, pray especially for;

A young mum (L) who is struggling to cope with her three children, in particular her 6 year old son.

A lady newly supported by us who has suffered terrible abuse. Pray that with support she can begin to move forward.

Give thanks for another well attended meal and Bible Study last week. Pray for all who heard the message and that lives will be touched.

Wednesday 20th August
Please pray for all our young people and for those who care for them on their different projects each day. Pray this will be a time for nurturing and encouraging each other, particularly for those who are on a real journey of faith. Give thanks for those of our young people who inspire others with their prayers each morning, it's a real blessing to hear very sincere and simple requests that come straight from their hearts.

Tuesday 19th August
Please pray for our Trustees and our Exec team.There has been so much happening at CFL over this exciting last year and this has put put much pressure and extra responsibilites on peoples shoulders. Pray for wisdom, encouragement and strength and that each one will be uplifted and blessed as each day they faithfully work for the glory of God.

Mike and the family are so grateful for your prayers. Please continue to hold them in your prayers as after waiting for the go ahead from their insurance company Mike will begin his chemotherapy today

Monday 18th August

Today Mike has an appointment to have a fistula put into his arm in preparation for the chemotherapy he will need. Please pray he will very soon receive a date to begin his treatment. Pray aslo for his wife Cathie and for Elizabeth and Wendy his daughters. Please also pray for the Grace Providence Church of which Mike is Pastor, a wonderful and loving body of people all of whom mean so much to us at Caring For Life. Indeed in so many ways Grace Providence is the home of CFL in the USA.

Monday 18th August
Please pray for the Agri team, they need to harvest the rest of the hay and straw ready for the winter months to feed the animals. Pray that we be blessed with a few days of dry weather to complete this vital work and that all the team will stay safe.

Friday 15th August
Please pray for volunteers, special people whom we value so much here at CFL. They contribute time, energy and many gifts to this ministry. Pray they will be blessed in their work and home lives and also here as they help.

Pray for the young people who will be attending church on Sunday that this will be a good and positive experience for them.

Thursday 14th August
Please pray for the staffing needs that we have at CFL at this time,that God will be working in the hearts of the right people to join the team and that they will respond to His call. Pray also for the staff and volunteers who are 'filling the gaps' in these areas.

Wednesday 13th August
Give thanks that the work on the new road into the farm is going well and will soon be ready to use. Pray this will open up to us many opportunities to fulfill the vision the Lord has for us in this ministry and that more people will come to know the love of Jesus in their lives.

Tuesday 12th August
Please pray for our young people, some of whom are on a real journey of faith and they have many unanswered questions. Pray that we will be able to help, encourage and nurture each one of them. Pray for staff and volunteers who spend time and work with them, that this will be a special time for fellowship and good conversations.

Friday 8th August
Please give thanks for the Granary and Farm Shop at CFL. We are still seeing an increasing number of people coming up the farm each day. This has given us great opportunities to iontroduce people to the work we do here and also opened doors to witness about Jesus' all emcompassing love and compassion. Pray for all those working in thios area, that they will be encouraged and guided. Pray that the right person will come to us for the Manager's position in the Granary.

Thursday 7th August
Please pray for our supporters who care for us in many ways, through prayer,giving their time to volunteer and financially. Pray the Lord will bless each one of them in their own lives and be particularly close to those who to those are struggling with difficult times or ill health.

Wednesday 6th August
Please pray for our Exec team as they work each day to make sure all thing are in place to make sure all those in our care feel safe, secure and encouaged within the farm environment. Pray the team will be strengthened and guided with wisdom from the Lord as they work to ensure that this ministry is never compromised in any way.

Tuesday 5th August
Please pray for the Agri team. We desperately need a spell of good weather so that we can harvest the hay and straw, which is vital food and bedding for the winter months for our animals. Pray also for the young men on this project, particularly one who has been known to CFL for many years who has just joined the team. Pray he would soon become settled and feel a valued part of that team.

Monday 4th August
Please pray for the Housing Support team and all those in their care, pray partcularly for;

A young lady supported by Becky who is having real difficulties in her new tenancy and with her boyfriend.

L, who is in her seventies is still homeless. Please pray that she will be accepted into a care home as soon as possible and that her sons don't cause further difficulties for her.

For a very vulnerable lady called P.She has been homeless on and off for years and has a great struggle with alcohol addictions.

Pray for ayoung man met by George last week. He potentially has somewhere to live but could be open to exploitatation.

Friday 1st August
Please pray for the Agri team, our cattle are still calving and we have hay and straw to harvest for the winter months. Pray for fine weather, that the team will stay safe and as they work together this will be a good time for fellowship and strengthening working relationships.

Pray for the young people and staff in both the homes this weekend, that they will have a good time for rest and fellowship together. Pray for those who will be attending church on Sunday, that they will gain a greater understanding of Jesus and His love for each one of them.

Thursday 31st July
Please pray that the right People will respond to our staff vacancies. Pray that the Lord will be working right now on the hearts of some very special people who will respond to His calling. Also pray for our staff members who are unwell at this time, that the Lord will comfort, strengthen and restore them to full health.

Tuesday 29th July
Please pray for our volunteers, we are blessed with so many gifted people who do so much to serve others in this ministry. Pray they will be blessed in their time with us and that they will be a blessing to those in our care.

Thursday 24th July
Please pray for the Housing Support team, pray particularly for;

A young man supported by John (called p ) who causes his parents a lot of upset as he frequently gets into difficult situations. Pray too for his parents as they try to help.

L has been admitted to a psychiatric hospital again. Her situation often appears hopeless. Pray for a breakthrough in her life.

Please pray as the Team are meeting a number of new referrals, many of whose lives have been ruined by alcohol. Pray for wisdom and understanding.

Tuesday 22nd July
Give thanks that we have been granted planning permission to create a new access road up to the farm and pray for Jonathan as he begins to make this happen, hopefully it will take just a few weeks. This will make an amazing difference to CFL, opening new doors and opportunities for people to access the granary cafe and farm shop much more easily. Please pray for those who are coming up to the farm, some quite regularly and some for the first time, that they might come to know something about the wonderful Creator and how He is in all things they see and in all things we do in our ministry here at CFL.

Monday 21st July
Please pray for all our young people, both those living in our homes and those who visit the farm each week. Pray they will each encounter Jesus in their daily lives and come to know Him more closely as their Friend.

Pray also for the staff and volunteers who work alongside those in our care each day on the different projects. Pray for wisdom, guidance, encouragement and the Lord’s loving compassion in their ministry.

Friday 18th July
Please pray for the housing support team as they travel around Leeds visiting the people in their care. They have people with many different and sensitive issues who are reliant on the team for help and support. Pray that they will be strengthened and encouraged as they minister to each person both practically and spiritually and that those who are suffering or struggling at this time will be upheld at this time.

Wednesday 16th July
Give thanks for all the amazing things that the Lord has done for us and please pray He will continue to meet all our needs. We have seen so much happening around us over the last year, there has been the wonderful news of some of our young people coming to faith in our Lord Jesus, the acquisition of the new land and the completion of the Adult Learning Centre along with the Granary and Farm Shop. Pray that Jesus will be ever evident in our words and actions and the Lord will continue to provide for all our needs.

Tuesday 15th July

Friday 11th July
Please pray for our Housing Support team as they work alongside people with many kinds of problems and issues that they struggle with each day. Pray particularly for;

A young lady S who has many issues and a very unsettled way of life. she is about to move into her own tenancy.

K is in prison. Please pray that his time there will help him to break free from his alcohol addictions.

L is over 70 years old and after many months is still in unsuitable temporary accommodation. She is extremely vulnerable.

Tuesday 8th July
Please pray for our supporters who uphold us in prayer each day, support us financially and help us practically by volunteering both at the farm and with our Housing Support team. Pray the Lord will bless and protect each one of them and be close and comfort those who are facing difficult times.

Monday 7th July
Please pray for the staff who are currently designing the new programme of daytime activities at Crag House Farm, in order to make full use of the lovely new facilities and to enable us to take on lots of new referrals.

Pray that as new ladies and gentlemen come to join us, they will integrate well with those already attending the farm projects and we will be able to share the love of Jesus with them.

Friday 4th July
Please pray for our young people, there is lots happening and some changes to the staff team. Pray that they will happily settle and enjoy working on their different projects with the staff and volunteers who care for them.

Pray for staff and volunteers who will be working in the Farm Shop and Granary Café on Saturday. Pray this will be a good time for meeting people who may never have come to the farm before or heard anything about the love of Jesus and how He is at the centre of our work here at CFL.

Thursday 3rd July
Please pray for our Housing Support Team, they have Bible study this evening with some of the people in their care, pray this goes well and that they will come to know more about Jesus and His love for them.

In their Team prayer meeting on Friday they shared some of the
encouragements that they have had recently as various people have been keen to hear more about the Christian faith.

Please remember a number of the men and women that we support who are currently in prison. A is due to be released on Tuesday, please pray that he will quickly adjust to a settled way of life back in the community.

Give thanks that despite all the obstacles she has faced, there have been many encouraging answers to prayer for E, the lady from the Cameroon, and her baby daughter.

L needs prayer as George helps him to settle back into his flat following his disappearance.

Tuesday 1st July
Please pray all those working on and around the farm on different projects today. We give thanks for the good weather as we can get much more done outdoors and appreciate the beauty surrounding us.

The agri men are working hard to bring in the silage before it rains again, this it vital winter food for the cattle. Pray that they stay safe working with heavy machinery and for good teamwork throughout the day.
