Christmas Crafts Sales Day 2006

Thank you to everyone who visited the farm for our Christmas Craft Sales Day. It was a lovely day, which began with a vivid rainbow, then the sun came out and the temperature wasnt too Christmassy until the sun began to go down, late in the afternoon.
The week before is always very busy with lots of cleaning and tidying. One of the tunnels was transformed with lights, decorations and festive tablecloths. The shop was bedecked with pine branches and twinkling lights and the hyacinths and crocus were brought out of their dark hiding places. Mark, our new chef, was very busy in the kitchen and lovely smells of baking greeted us as we approached the centre.
It is always exciting when our supporters bring us boxes and bags of goods to sell. We had some really lovely things donated this year; it felt like Christmas (early) unpacking them all! With the help of volunteers everything was priced and on Saturday morning we were able to move everything into place ready for our visitors.
There was a steady stream of old friends and supporters all day and it was a real blessing to chat with folk and catch up on news. The burger bar was much appreciated as usual and the centre (oops I mean the refectory) was a cosy refuge for hot drinks and home made biscuits as it grew dark and colder.
The polytunnels and shop looked very pretty with their Christmas lights as we began to pack away and tidy up. I wish I could say that we sold everything, but some of you who were not able to be with us may be glad to know that we still have some hyacinth bowls and a few tree decorations and table runners left, also bird tables and feeders, and of course we always have beef, lamb and eggs available in the shop!
We have been so busy at Caring For Life that Christmas has seemed a long way away, but now we have had our Christmas Craft Sales Day, we are aware that Christmas is almost upon us. We remember all our supporters every day in our prayer meetings, and are so grateful for all of you who enable us to keep this ministry going by your support, your generosity, your love and your prayers.
