| It often confuses people; it often even confuses those who work in it. It comprises 3 small letters, however without it supporters would notice a big difference.
The CMP project, which runs from the reception at Crag House Farm, Caring For Lifes headquarters, stands for Commercial Marketing and Promotions.
We are the team that produces all the literature that our supporters receive, including our monthly bulletins. We produce fliers, handouts, signs for open days, annual reports, displays, inserts, the adoption scheme literature (apart from the newsletters), and the list could go on.
Its an interesting and varied place to be involved in, just with the literature production as listed, however theres much more to us than meets the eye. We also oversee the sales of items that the farm produces. This includes our home delivery service of free-range eggs to people who live locally. Our small retail area sells our home produced lamb and beef, fridge magnets, woodwork that is produced on site including bird tables, plant troughs, bird boxes, bird feeders, wild bird food, walking sticks and a small selection of our plants.
We are also responsible for the website. It has, to our shame, been a little more neglected than we would like, and we have addressed that, so you should see much more happening over the coming months. Do remember though to check the prayer points every day. We also are making sure there is a regular weekbuster to keep you informed of anything thats happening. So who is in the CMP team? We all have our roles. Martyn and David are our Media men. They are responsible for the production of the DVDs from start to finish, including copying them. David loves this part of the work, and will often be seen carrying lots of equipment, from cameras to leads and even microphones. Tina, although relatively new, has been thrown in at the deep end producing literature. She is currently in the middle of her first big project, our monthly bulletin. She has already been involved in updating adoption literature, helping to prepare things for the Great Yorkshire Show, and overseeing a mailshot.
We will hopefully be expanding the team soon, with more young people coming in to help, with an additional staff member coming to help develop the media project further. Were never short of work and its a busy place at the quietest of times. The men we look after both need a lot of support. David goes to church each Sunday and prays each day at our prayer meeting at the farm. Michael is someone who struggles with things from his past, and it is our prayer that one day he will show even more interest in becoming a Christian, coming to know Christs love for himself. |
