Turn Back Time

Some of the lyrics of a famous pop song in the eighties are as follows:

If I could turn back time
If I could find a way
I'd take back those words that hurt you
(artist: Cher)

As much as we would like to, we can never go back in time and change our experiences or actions.

Many of the folk we care for at CFL find us via a route of unbearable experiences such as abuse and homelessness. Several of them also have to deal with physical and emotional disabilities including mental health problems and addictions.

At Caring For Life we cannot erase the memories of suffering, pain and indignity these folks have suffered but we can offer a safe haven, an unconditional love and a friend, in Christ Jesus.

We cannot turn back time, wipe the slate clean, erase incidents and free people of any guilt or shame. But we know that God is the Lord of time. In His grace He gave it to us as a gift. He has given us this window of opportunity, precious time that we have with the folk in our care to share with them the love of Jesus that in time will bring healing to broken souls.

We don’t know how much time we have; the Lord does not sell time. Therefore, as staff we endeavour to use this gift wisely, using each opportunity to serve the Lord.

“Be wise in your behaviour to those who are outside, making good use of the time.”- Colossians 4:5 (Bible in Basic English)
