First to Move in!

It’s only two weeks now until the anticipated date for the CMP team to move into the newly refurbished offices. I can tell you, excitement levels are running very high in this office!

There’s a reason that we’re privileged to be the first into the new offices, a couple of months ahead of the schedule, and this is why.

For some time now, the Computer and Media Project has steadily increased the number of people involved in the project. Gary, Michael, David, Peter, Matthew and Alan are our current recruits, with the potential for more in the future.

In addition, we have up to nine volunteers who give sacrificially of their time every month to help to mail out up to 3500 prayer bulletins, produced by CMP, to our supporters. This means that at one point during the month we have up to 18 people around, plus staff.

A lot of the work we do in CMP requires considerable space. Copying and printing DVDs, producing signs for sales days and open days, plus the mailing of our prayer bulletins, all require CMP to have adequate space to work in.

The mailshot is of particular value, because keeping our faithful supporters up to date with news is vital. Unfortunately, whilst we have been in temporary office surroundings, this has proved to be a lot more difficult.

We are currently in a very small office, which means that when everyone who works on the Computing and Media project is in, we do not have sufficient space hence the urgency for our project to be back in suitable surroundings.

Right back at the early planning stage, our offices were discussed with the building contractors, and we were privileged to have some special arrangements made, in order to ensure that we can get back in earlier than the ultimate deadline.

So we are very much looking forward to being in our new office! Excitement is building and we have already started thinking through the arrangements for the seating, printers, DVD duplication and a whole host of other choices that need to be made.

We have been able to peep into the building site from time to time to see the progress, and we are so thankful for our new facility.

We want to say a huge thank you to all who have made contributions towards the building of the New Adult Learning Centre. This facility will make a massive difference to so many people. I personally don’t think we have understood a fraction of what God has in store for this building.

Once we have moved in, it will only be the start of exciting things to come for the CMP project this year.

We hope to expand the project to incorporate more people. This gives us the opportunity to share Jesus’ love, providing a sense of dignity for everyone who is involved.

It is wonderful that most of those involved in CMP have already made professions of faith. However, there are a couple of people who have not as yet. More than anything, we want to see people come to faith in Christ through this project. We also want everyone to experience something of Jesus’ love through all of us.

We have a number of exciting new ventures to look into, one being a DVD/CD duplication service which we will be offering to the general public; we believe this may be something that will be useful to churches. Also a service that will convert old VHS video tapes into mini-dv, DVD or even something that could be stored on your computer.

These new services we are hoping to offer will be overseen by those in our care. They have already developed many of the skills needed, and they have all shown great interest in having the opportunity to use them in this very exciting project.

Do email me at tim.parkinson@caringforlife.co.uk if you think you would be interested in this service, or if you have any other suggestions.

We look forward to the future, and hope that in the new offices and the new building, we will see many more people come to faith in Christ. We pray that everyone who takes part on the CMP project will have a real sense of belonging and purpose, and that they will experience genuine love on this team.

We look forward to providing you with photos of the CMP Team in our new premises!

Yours in His Service

Volunteers help with our mail shot that goes out each month to our supporters.

Printing DVD's is just one of the many jobs our young people help with.

There's not much space in the temporary office (especially when we're all in there) but it's been a vital space for us during the refurbishing of CMP's new office space.

The work taking place in CMP is moving on very quickly and it wont be long before we can move back in!
