First Impressions

To describe my first impressions of Caring For Life in words is somewhat difficult, as words cannot explain the loving, caring, friendly atmosphere that surrounds Crag House Farm, the home of CFL.

From the moment I set foot on the farm I felt very welcomed, both by the staff and the young people. Everyone made me feel very special and cared for.

I have great visions for the equestrian project and I feel that God has a big plan ahead, which is very exciting.

We have already started to make progress on the project – everyone has been subjected to ‘Dressage’ chatter and poor Joe has managed to cope with all my pink!.. But joking aside, we have started to work the horses, both ridden and in long reins and everyone is progressing nicely.

Our hope for the future is to have a team of horses broken to drive so that we can deliver farm produce via drays. We are also hoping to expand our facilities to include a surface for working the horses on in all weather conditions, as the rain keeps holding us back at the moment.

To come into this position at this stage in the project is somewhat challenging, but it is such a fantastic opportunity, so I just continue to pray that God gives me the wisdom I need to achieve his desires.

The young people I have met and worked with are amazing; I have been so over-whelmed by the love they show towards each other and the staff, and it is somewhat humbling in view of their past.

I know I have only been at CFL for two weeks, but I can truly say “I’m home.”
