Moments that Change Lives

The Olympic Games are now in full swing, and we are all privileged to have world class athletes gracing our front rooms and giving us a chance to share in their victories and defeats. For many athletes, participation in the Games is a life changing experience whether the result produces joy or heartache.
All of us are participating in the race of life and I am sure we can all recall some of the defining moments in our lives, some more memorable than others and some more painful than others!
Most of the folk we care for have so few good moments in their lives to recall, but sadly a multitude of bad memories and suffering to dwell upon. In coming to Caring For Life we hope they would have the opportunity to experience life changing moments. Whether it is in the conservation area where they can see and touch the beauty of creation, or in music and drama where they can build confidence and learn to express their feelings. It might be in the friendships they form with others at the farm, or it could be whilst creating a walking stick on the woodwork project that the love of Jesus touches their hearts and breaks through the sadness and heartache. Encountering the love of Jesus is a life changing moment, but also the beginning of a life transforming healing process.
We pray that Caring For Life will continue be a place where lives will be changed whilst creating volumes of wonderful happy memories, pushing back the pain of the past.
Please pray for the staff and volunteers, that we will stay true to our calling to love the outcasts of this world and to share Jesus' love with them.
As we run this race of life may we never take our focus off Jesus, our Champion.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
