Busy Bees!

It is that time of year again; it’s June and Caring For Life’s annual Open Day is less than two weeks away!

As expected, the farm is a hive of activity with people scurrying around, checking lists, confirming deadlines and praying for stamina and good weather to accompany them through to Open Day! It is not only the staff and volunteers who are engulfed in this flurry of activities; all the beneficiaries are also looking forward to the event and working hard to show off their projects and welcome supporters and members of the public to Caring For Life on 21st June.

This year’s Open Day has got an extra tag of excitement attached to it and it comes in the shape of the new Adult Learning Centre (ALC) and the PAM Building. The PAM building has already been in use for a few months and it has revolutionised the agriculture project, providing much needed undercover space for the animals, as well as a safe environment for all project workers to handle the animals.

The pressure is on for the Adult Learning Centre to be completed, including our new retail facility and the Granary Cafe.

But we are all up for the challenge, even if it means working 24/7 the week before Open Day. We are so thankful to everyone who has contributed to the new facilities. Grant Making Bodies, individual supporters and groups have all donated and helped in making this vision become a reality, and we are also very much aware and extremely appreciative of the steadfast prayer support for these specific undertakings.

We hope this buzz of excitement is contagious, so that supporters and the local community will turn up in their masses on Open Day, to support the work and share in our gratefulness to our Heavenly Father for blessing this ministry so abundantly.

From the top;
tidying the gardens, preparing a new pathway from the ALC to the sensory gardens, unpacking new equipment for the cafe, cleaning the window in the new cafe, making jams and jellies for open day and to sell in our farm shop and much much more.
