“Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn” Romans 12:15
We could not let this summer go by, without sending a message to all our wonderful supporters, to say THANK YOU for all your love and concern. We thank everyone who has sent messages, cards, flowers, phone calls and words of encouragement to us all at Caring For Life, as we said goodbye to our precious founder Peter Parkinson in April. We know we have been in the prayers of many other individuals and churches too, for which we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
We have been overwhelmed by the kindness shown, by the time taken in writing and sending your sympathy, concern, love, hope and encouragement to us all; and I would like to thank you on behalf of both Peter’s immediate family, and also the wider Caring For Life family of beneficiaries and staff. These messages, which have included bible verses, poems and personal memories of Peter’s impact on people’s lives have made us smile, laugh and cry. One person wrote of Peter that he brought “God’s grace to the lost” and he did exactly that; very tangibly and he never failed to point people to his Saviour, as he did it.
One supporter wrote about the joy which Peter has now entered into with his Lord and Saviour; many spoke of his hearing the words “Well done, good and faithful servant”. Another wrote of him as “our dear Peter Parkinson” and we are very conscious of this sense of family that we have with you, our supporters, and a sense of oneness in the ministry of CFL.
Your messages spur us on to continue in the work. One gentleman wrote and sent a poem which includes the line “let compassion lead you to offer help and hope every time”. It expresses beautifully, what the Lord calls us all to do.
As it says in Hebrews 12: 1-2 “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus…” As well as the men and women of faith in the past, you are our witnesses!
Finally, we thank you for your prayers. So many have written saying that you are praying for us at Caring For Life, as we continue on in the work and ministry and we do appreciate this. We have been very conscious of them sustaining us and they will continue to do so in the coming weeks and months.
Thank you for keeping connected with the prayers we put out via the bulletin, churches, the website and our social media posts. We love being able to share stories with you and matters for prayer. And do not forget, that it really is our privilege to pray for you all as well. Please do keep in touch and let us know of things we can be praying for you.
