History

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

The need for Caring For Life’s ministry began in the mid 1980's when a number of homeless and vulnerable young men and women began to attend Leeds reformed Baptist Church. It was here they found Peter Parkinson the Pastor of the Church and Esther Smith a small group children’s home manager. Some of those young people were known to Peter and Esther’s and the needs presented by them stirred Peter and Esther into action to reach out to those on the margins of society; to share the love of God and the message of hope and salvation, found only in Jesus. Their hope was to not only help with a person’s immediate practical needs, but to then walk with that person through life, or for as long as was needed.
