‘Top Tips’
...things to think about when setting up a fundraiser

-
Plan effectively:
-
How will you fundraise? What is your goal? Is it realistic?
-
What is your time frame?
-
What is your sponsorship target?
-
Where will you choose to fundraise?
-
How will you raise funds?
-
-
Set up a sponsorship page – Setting up a sponsorship page with Stewardship, Just Giving, or even Facebook can be a great way to enable your friends and family to hear about your fundraiser and is a simple tool to collect donations.
-
Tell your story – why are you fundraising for Caring For Life?
-
Write a message and use photos to tell your story
-
-
How will you tell people you are fundraising?
-
Use social media/email/posters
-
Tell people at work/in your church/in your school
-
Send invitations if putting on an event
-
Tell us at Caring For Life and we can advertise your event in our monthly bulletin
-
-
Keep people updated
-
Post on social media/sponsorship page/email people and let them know how you are getting on either preparing for your fundraiser or even how the fundraiser itself is going.
-
Post pictures or videos
-
If you are doing a run or walk, why not connect Strava to your sponsorship page which will keep people updated on how the training/fundraiser is going
-

-
Keep your fundraising page open after your event has taken place. A lot of donations can come in even after you have finished your event.
-
Say thank you - Make sure to thank all those who have donated towards your fundraiser and let them know the final total.
-
Pay in your money
-
See our page on ‘how to pay in your money’ for different ideas.
