What We Believe

ALL PEOPLE ARE MADE IN THE IMAGE OF GOD

The example, commands and teaching of Jesus Christ inspire and underpin our ministry. At the heart of our ministry is the belief that all people are made in the image of God. We believe that all people have been created by Him, created for Him and created for His glory.

THE ANSWER FOR OUR BROKEN WORLD

We live in a broken world where some are hurt and abused by others, and others hurt themselves. We believe God cares about these people and that His love has an answer to all these situations as well. We believe the answer is found in knowing, loving and following Jesus, as commanded in the Bible.

Love Like Jesus

SHARING THE LOVE OF JESUS

We try to follow in Jesus’ footsteps. Just as he had compassion for the lost, the vulnerable and the excluded, we also try to have a love and compassion for the very same people.

Jesus tells us, in Matthew 25 v 34-40, how to share what we have with those in need and how to reach out to those who are at-risk and abused.

We believe it is the Christian’s duty to reach out to those on the margins of society with the love of God and the message of hope and salvation, found only in Jesus.

Sharing Is Caring

MATTHEW 9:36

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

Clarity on our Belief

Taken from our Articles of Association, (currently being updated, 2022) here are two excerpts from our statement of faith.

"The ultimate authority in all matters of Christian faith and practice is and must only ever be Christ Jesus alone, (Hebrews 1:1-3a), revealed in and through the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, (John 1:15-18).  We recognise the Bible to be what it declares itself to be, namely “God breathed, and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness”, (2 Tim 3v16)."

"For greater understanding and detail of the faith we profess and of our distinctive beliefs, details are available in the Heidelberg Catechism, the Westminster Confession of Faith, the London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689 and the Savoy Declaration, which generally provide an acceptable expression of our faith. These historic documents provide a summary of “the things that have been fulfilled amongst us” (Luke 1.1), and they can assist in controversy, be a confirmation of faith, and a means of edification. However, we would not subscribe to any definition or statement contained within these or any other historic confession or creed, where they may be found to add to, or detract from, God’s Word revealed in the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament"

Dignity For All

MAKING GOD'S LOVE VISIBLE AND TOUCHABLE

We believe that all people are made in the image of God, so everyone deserve to be treated with respect and dignity, no matter what a person’s situation. We try to see those who come to us for care and support as people worthy of being helped, loved and respected.

Jesus’ compassion always led to action. Our compassionate care and ministry is the outworking of the faith we have in Him, making God’s love visible and touchable.

We pray that through what we do, people would meet Jesus here, and come to know His peace, His presence, His love, His saving power and the glorious joy of sins forgiven.
