Woodwork

SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE

Housed in the large workshop at Crag House Farm, the Woodwork Project has excellent equipment, enabling each person to take on tasks suited to their interests and abilities. Great teamwork is established as people work together to produce lovely woodwork items, or tackle occasional projects around the Farm.

A SENSE OF BELONGING

Evident to all is the benefit of this project in enabling people to feel they belong; that their turning up at the project really matters, and that they matter.

A PRODUCTION PROCESS

The Woodwork Project members gain a real sense of pride in turning out a whole range of items, which can be used around the Farm site, or sold in the Nurseries retail area. Different people enjoy different tasks and many enjoy the routine of a set role. Products include garden planters and troughs, bird tables and nest boxes, and smaller wood-turned items.

OUT AND ABOUT

From time to time, the Woodwork Project members get involved in making or renovating benches and tables, repairing structures such as the bird hides, or creating wooden signage for visitors, to mention only a few activities out and about on the Farm.
