Design & Media
CAMERAS & COMPUTERS
Helping to produce films about Caring For Life’s work, learning to upload information onto the website, helping to create signs, taking photos, acquiring basic to more advanced IT skills and general office skills, are all part of the Design and Media project activities.
PART OF A TEAM
Perhaps the most important outcome of this project is the enabling of people to feel very much part of a team, learning to get on and knowing one belongs.
LEARNING CAN BE FUN
Helping produce films can mean being in charge of the clap board and calling “Cut!” Or standing guard outside a room where a voiceover is being recorded, so there is no background noise! Lots of photography is involved, capturing images for the website or just for the archive. Out-takes can be hilarious!
MAKING SENSE OF THE DIGITAL WORLD
Increasingly, applications for housing or benefits, banking and other transactions and communication are online. For some beneficiaries, this is a baffling world, which can be terrifying. Learning basic IT skills is crucial and is something the project hopes to roll out to many more beneficiaries in the future.
